Privacy Policy
FitDive is built to hold as little of your data as possible. This page describes exactly what the app stores, what it sends, and to whom.
What FitDive stores on your device
- Your MySSI email and password — in the iOS Keychain (via Apple's Secure Store), never in a database of ours, never readable by any other app.
- Your MySSI diver ID — captured automatically from MySSI when you sign in, stored the same way.
- A fallback dive-site ID, dive comment, and similar preferences you set in Settings.
- An anonymized run log of your last several imports (see the Support page) — kept on your device only.
None of this leaves your device except as described below.
What FitDive sends, and to whom
- To MySSI (my.divessi.com / www.divessi.com): your email and password, to sign in on your behalf, and the dive details from your
.fitfile, to log the dive. This is the same information you'd type in yourself on MySSI's own site. - Your location: used only to look up nearby dive sites (via MySSI's own public dive-site locator) when your dive file has no GPS fix. Sent only as coordinates for that one lookup — never stored by us, never attached to your identity.
- Nothing is sent to FitDive's developer. There is no FitDive server. The app talks directly to MySSI's servers from your phone.
Bug reports
If you use "Report a Bug" in Settings, you choose whether to attach your anonymized run log. That log never contains your email, password, diver ID, or precise location — only which API calls were made, when, and whether they succeeded. Reports are sent as an email you compose and send yourself; nothing is transmitted automatically.
Third-party services
FitDive is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by SSI (Scuba Schools International) or Garmin. It uses your own MySSI account to submit dives on your behalf, the same as if you had entered them by hand on MySSI's site. Your use of MySSI is governed by SSI's own privacy policy and terms.
