Importing your whole Garmin history

If you've been diving with a Garmin computer longer than you've had FitDive, you don't have to share each dive in one at a time - bring years of past dives in with one file.

1

Request your data from Garmin Connect

Go to Garmin Connect's data management page and request a full export. Garmin prepares it and emails you a download link - this can take a little while, sometimes a day or more.

2

Open Import Garmin History in FitDive

From FitDive's home screen, tap Import Garmin History and pick the export file (or the folder/zip it came in).

3

FitDive scans every dive in one pass

Each dive in the export is checked against your MySSI logbook exactly as described in how dive matching works - its own memory plus your synced My SSI Logbook. You get one list showing what's already logged, what's a possible match worth a second look, and what's genuinely missing, even for dives from years before you had the app.

4

Import what's missing

Pick any dive from that list to import it - the same Review step as a single-dive import every time, so you still see everything before it submits. See Using FitDive for what that screen looks like.

Sync your MySSI logbook first. The duplicate check is only as good as your last Logs and Logbooks → My SSI Logbook → Sync - do that before a big history import so dives you already typed into MySSI by hand don't show up as missing.
